Jaipur, the pink city, is a regal place where the air is thick with the royal flair & every nook & corner has a story to tell. It is one of the developed cities in India yet it has maintained its old-world charm.

The place is so beautiful that we can go on and on about the best places to visit in Jaipur.

The history of Jaipur dates back to the 17th Century. It was founded by King Jai Singh,  hence the Name ‘Jaipur‘.

It is a popular Tourist Destination of India & a part of Golden Triangle along with Delhi & Agra. No wonder Jaipur is the Perfect Winter destination.

Best Places to Visit in Jaipur

Jaipur is a dream city with well-planned roads, parks, gorgeous Monuments, mighty Forts, all seamlessly integrated together.

The old city of Jaipur is surrounded by four walls or Parkota. With time, the city has expanded in all directions far beyond its city walls.

Jaipur has a special place for me cause it is my home town. It is difficult to introduce all the aspects in one single article.

Yet I have tried to pick the best places in my city that showcase its history, culture & art

1. Amer Fort and Palace

Amer Fort and Palace

A 16th century Fort & palace sitting atop a hill, Amer Fort is the most iconic places in Jaipur. It was built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. Even after hundreds of years, it remains one of the most iconic landmarks of Jaipur.

The opulent palace has areas dedicated to different activities carried out during the olden times when the royal family resided in the palace.

  • Sukh Niwas

It is estimated that every year hundreds of thousand visitors from all the world come to explore this architectural wonder. It fascinated history & art lovers. No doubt that it is one of the Most Visited royal palaces in India.

Not only it is a popular tourist destination in Jaipur but also a hot favorite among Film Makers. A number of Bollywood movies have been shot in this magnificent palace recently being Jodha Akbar & Baijirao Mastani.

Important: We request the visitors NOT to use the elephant rides to visit the Amer fort. It is cruelty against innocent & lovely animals.

2. City Palace

City Palace Jaipur

It was the ceremonial seat of Sawai Jai Singh. Now it is a well-known landmark & art Museum.

It is the official residence of the Royal Family of Jaipur.

3. Jaigarh Fort

A gorgeous fort for sitting atop Aravalli Range. In fact, this is the place where you will get the best view of the city & Amer fort.

World’s 10th Largest Canon, Jaivana, is kept in Jaigarh Fort.

4. Nahargarh Fort

It was the part of Jaipur defense ring along with Jaigarh & Amer Fort in the past.

5. Hawa Mahal

7. Jal Mahal

    How about adding Galta ji temple, Peena Manna ka Kund, etc. in place of Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-i-aam since these places are a part of some other place, not individual ones?
