 Tarla Dalal, India’s first celebrity chef passes away due to cardiac arrest. She was a simple lady who achieved extraordinary culinary heights through her delectable dishes & kind attitude. You will hardly find an Indian household that doesn’t have one or more of her title tucked away in their kitchen cabinet.

Tarla Dalal started her journey with a humble journey from her home with a small cooking class. In 1974, she published her first cookbook ” the pleasures of  vegetarian cooking”  that went on to become a huge hit. She never looked back & wrote around 100 cookbooks.Her work is translated in many Indian & international languages.

Her style of cooking was simple yet distinctive. She represents the true essence of Indian Cuisine. Her work won her many awards & accolades. She won Padma Shri in 2007 beside  many other awards.

Tarla Dalal truly represents the middle-class housewife who with her talent & foresight achieved exemplary career heights. She is a lady who donned a sari, thick rimmed glass & heavily accented voice yet went on to become one of the pioneers in the culinary world.

She has & will inspire women for years to come. RIP Tarla Dalal
