The second week of Instagram is dedicated to African Art & the romantic rain. Although, until now I haven’t had chance to visit the largest continent in the world, African. But I am surely in love with many things coming from the mystic land. I love African music, artifacts, tribal jewelry, forest & rich wildlife. Mind you, Africa has a lot more to offer than mere tribal art & jewelry.
Most of the African sculptures are in wood or other natural material, inspired by day to day life, nature, folk lures & religion. I clicked these pictures during my visit to an amusement park. I had an opportunity to experience the night safari spiced up with the African art & culture.
You will find highly decorated mask often dedicated to a local god, characters from folk lures. These masks are used during religious ceremonies.
These sculptures or masks have distinctive features that set them apart from other regional art. Each tribe or region has its own way of carving & decorating the sculptures.
African Art is famous across the world. It has found its place in posh art galleries to adoring the house walls of art lovers.
The rainy season remains my favorite of all season. There is something so alluring about this season that it lifts my spirits & fills the air with romance. Suddenly, the whole picture around you changes. Everything looks so beautiful & poetic.
The view outside of my window. Isn’t it heavenly?
This picture I shared for Throwback Thursday. It was taken in the picturesque locals of Lavasa City. It is one of my favorite pictures. The backdrop creates magic. It looks like you are roaming on the streets of Venice :)
